Hebrews 13 New
International Version (NIV)
Keep on loving one
another as brothers and sisters. Do
not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have
shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
strangers is not a new thing in our world; this probably came from the dark
ages when a wrong association with a stranger may result in you losing you
livelihood or even your life. It’s therefore a common instruction to young ones
not to talk to strangers and judging by some horrible stories in the news even
in recent times, it’s probably not a superfluous instruction.
noteworthy that not all strangers are evil and not all those perpetuating the
horrific practices are strangers. There is good and bad in every community. We
are secretly afraid of things or people we don’t understand, let love and
interest drive you not ignorance and fear. There is no fear in love; but
perfect love drives out fear.
Majority of strangers
are just people like us, they love, they hurt and they want to express
themselves and be of help in any way possible. Some of the strangers we shut
out are actually human angels sent by God into our lives.
As we find with people
fleeing from waring countries and those displaced by the recent natural
disasters, there’s no telling when you might become a stranger yourself.
Make today a turning
point, open the windows of your heart and look outside with interest, it might
surprise you what you’ll see. God bless.
