Love is patient, love is kind. It does not
envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It
does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it
keeps no record of wrongs. Love does
not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It
always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love
never fails.
1Cor. 13:4-8
Many songs and poems have been written on the subject. Wars
and many battles fought over many generations all in the name of love. How
about magnificent art works commissioned over the centuries; paintings,
sculptures and more. Even cities were built or burnt in the name of love.
The question is what is love? Is it an involuntary emotional
phenomenon like a feeling, a craving or a thirst? On the contrary could it be a
voluntary condition, could it be learned or developed?
