Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The Lord God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he
hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.
Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with
him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of
the Lord God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.
And whosoever remaineth in any place where he sojourneth,
let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods,
and with beasts, beside the freewill offering for the house of God that is in
Jerusalem. Ezra 1
Here again is one of the significant occurrences that set
the Bible apart from all other books. There had been a prophecy by Isaiah (Isaiah
44:28 & 45:1) about 200 years beforehand giving detailed description of
Cyrus and what he will do.
King Cyrus emancipated the Israelites. As many as are
willing can go back to Jerusalem. However the King’s decree also says those staying
back in captivity should be helped in every way by the people around them. It
has suddenly become lucrative to be an Israelite in captivity. It is understandable
therefore that only few were willing to return. Remember, a fulfilled destiny is
superior to carnal pleasures or material comforts.
Perhaps you’ve decided to forget all about your dreams and
original aspirations; you might even have a coping mechanism for easing the
pains of unaccomplishment. There is a word from God for you: “Therefore the
redeemed of the Lord shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy
shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and
mourning shall flee away”. Isaiah
It makes no difference how long it’s been, the word of God
concerning your life shall be fulfilled; dreams don’t have deadlines says Mark
I see God’s prophecies concerning your life fulfilled in Jesus’ name. It is
your year of Divine overflow.
