Be anxious for Nothing

“You have done a foolish thing,” Samuel said. “You have not kept the command the LORD your God gave you; if you had, he would have established your kingdom over Israel for all time. 14 But now your kingdom will not endure; the LORD has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him ruler of his people, because you have not kept the LORD’s command.” 1Sam. 13: 13

Here is another sad story regarding the reign of Saul in Israel, on the face of it, it looks like a harsh punishment for offering the sacrifice when he should have waited for Samuel to do it.

His reason was “When I saw that the men were scattering, and that you did not come at the set time, and that the Philistines were assembling at Mikmash, I thought, ‘Now the Philistines will come down against me at Gilgal, and I have not sought the LORD’s favor.’

Saul was plagued by a few negative emotions; impatience, fear and anxiety being the chief ones in this instance. Negative emotions seldom yield positive outcomes. Be sure not to make principal decisions as a result of negative emotions.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil…Psalm 23:4

We receive the grace for boldness and the wisdom for control and measured response at all times in Jesus’ name.
