Help the Helpless

But all the evil men and troublemakers among David’s followers said, “Because they did not go out with us, we will not share with them the plunder we recovered. However, each man may take his wife and children and go.”

David replied, “No, my brothers, you must not do that with what the LORD has given us. He has protected us and delivered into our hands the raiding party that came against us. Who will listen to what you say? The share of the man who stayed with the supplies is to be the same as that of him who went down to the battle. All will share alike.” 1 Sam. 30:22-24.

Here’s another decisive moment in David’s leadership, there’s quotation attributed to Edmund Burke; "The only thing needed for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing". Sometimes good men are too timid to take a stand or speak up against evil, unless they are directly affected.

There is a grace in God to be a voice to the voiceless and a help to the needy, if and only if we are willing. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world James 1:27

May God give you the strength and boldness to be a voice to the voiceless and a help to those in need in Jesus’ name.
