In the course of time, David inquired of the LORD. “Shall I go up to
one of the towns of Judah?” he asked. The LORD said, “Go up.” David
asked, “Where shall I go?” “To Hebron,” the LORD answered…Then the men
of Judah came to Hebron, and there they anointed David king over the
tribe of Judah. II Samuel 2:1 & 4
Amazing the things you
learn with experience, a while back David will go against Goliath
without hesitation, now a few years on, with the benefit of age and
experience, he enquires from God about
everything. Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto
thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall
direct thy paths. Pro.3:5&6.
Between the first and the second anointing of David was at least 10
years perhaps 13; the teenage boy anointed by Samuel had to grow into the King God
had made him. The promises of God to you will not be denied, though it
tarries, wait for it.
Your growth is your responsibility, various
experiences will come your way but what you make of them is your
choice. The same situation makes one person better and another person
bitter. It’s like the wind that caries one boat to the east and another
one west depending on how you set your sail.
We receive the grace to grow better with every experience and walk into the overflow of God’s blessing in Jesus’ name
