And after this it came to pass that David
smote the Philistines, and subdued them…And he smote Moab, and measured
them with a line, casting them down to the ground… David smote also
Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his
border at the river Euphrates…And when the Syrians of Damascus came to
succour Hadadezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and
twenty thousand men. 2 Samuel 8:1-6.
David simply continued on and on,
it’s like he couldn’t stop himself, like a huge torrent he wiped them
clean where ever he went. The more he pushed himself the better he got,
until he became very great and all his captains became mighty men.
Niccolò Machiavelli described a concept he termed law of continuity,
paraphrased, it says when you have an advantage, you must maximise your
opportunity continually to the end. Self-development giant Brian Tracy
calls it continuous action technique, CAT
When you have found you
niche, your sweet spot or a special area of interest, you must invest
actions or resources in this area continuously. If it’s writing for
example, you must learn from better writer and write something every
day, same goes for painting, cooking, singing and any other area of
interest you consider your strength.
As you continually invest
action in your area of giftedness, may you get better and better until
your gift takes you into limelight in Jesus’ name
