King Solomon, however,
loved many foreign women besides Pharaoh’s daughter—Moabites, Ammonites,
Edomites, Sidonians and Hittites. They were from nations about which
the LORD had told the Israelites, “You must not intermarry with them,
because they will surely turn your hearts after their gods.” 1Kings
As it happens, Solomon the wisest man with all his
wisdom fell at the simple instructions. I can only imagine he was so
intoxicated with superior mental
abilities that he began to ignore the simplistic. Probably the same way
we sometimes feel rules are made for the incompetent, e.g. Speed limit
for other drivers who aren’t as good as we are.
We have become who we are through the simple day-to-day activities we
perform, majority of them very ordinary. Never take your eyes off the
simple activities and common sense.
Loving relationship is a
vulnerable position; ‘love lifts us up where we belong’ but it could
also drag us through the dirtiest filth. A man in a loving relationship
can make the woman do unimaginable things and vice vasa. Be careful who
or what you fall in love with. You don’t need many women to lose your
heart; Samson only needed Delilah. For Ananias and Sapphira, it was
money (Acts 5:1-11).
Love not the world, neither the things that
are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is
not in him 1John 2:15 You have two eyes a wise man said, you can’t make
one look up and the other look down simultaneously. The direction you’re
looking is the direction you’re going, fix your gaze on Jesus.
Blessed are you as you fear the Lord and walk in obedience to him in Jesus’ name
