Then Hilkiah the high priest said to
Shaphan the scribe, “I have found the Book of the Law in the house of
the LORD.” And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it. So
Shaphan the scribe went to the king, bringing the king word, saying,
“Your servants have gathered the money that was found in the house, and
have delivered it into the hand of those who do the work, who oversee
the house of the LORD.” Then Shaphan the scribe showed the king, saying,
“Hilkiah the priest has given me a book.” And Shaphan read it before the king. 2 Kings 22
The last time I checked, this was a book with strong a strong daily
dosage instruction. The situation had now degenerated to a point where
the high priest, supposedly the custodian of the book just stumbled on
it. The king apparently had never heard it read. So much for a book of
divine instruction on prosperity and good success.
It’s so easy
to blame the priests and leadership of the people for this oversight but
before we go into overdrive, it might be a good idea to ask how we are
doing with other simple instructions in today’s world. I think it was
Jim Rohn who said things that are easy to do, like an apple a day,
drinking 2 litters of water a day and so on are also easy not to do.
Perhaps it doesn’t help that the first time you skip on what you should
be doing, usually nothing spectacular happens.
A wise man once
alleged, many will want to die for the truth but very few will give an
hour a day to find out what the truth is. If you seek, you will find;
for everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one
who knocks, the door will be opened. Matthew 7:8
from God says; this book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth;
but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe
to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make
thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Joshua 1:8
May the Lord give you the required appetite and guide you into all truth in Jesus’ name.
